Farah. In Arabic, my name means “happiness.” It’s a tall order, but I’ve made it my life mission to spread that happiness wherever I go.

You might say that The Farah Effect is really the happiness effect—a shift in health and wellness wherein happiness abounds. Through my struggles and studies, I’ve learned to embody the qualities of my name and share them here with you.

I’m dealing happiness and I’m here to get you hooked!

When I was younger, like so many adolescents, I was definitely hooked on food. Food is tied so much to emotional triggers and I struggled with weight issues as a teen. I started to yo-yo diet and tried every fancy weight loss fad, but nothing I tried truly made me feel healthy or happy.

I knew I had to do something different. So I set out on a self-care journey. I realized that, if I could heal myself, I could help others heal too.

I began to search for a solution that not only worked for the body, but the mind and spirit. The combination of those three is so important, and through reading my blog, you’ll learn why.

Figuring this out on my own was eye opening. My journey into health led me on a remarkable path.

First thing’s first, I knew I had to get my mind in check in order to truly understand what was going on with my body. I went straight for the validity of research and graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science.

It was a life-changing experience that solidified what I always knew: biochemical nutrition is 10% physical and 90% mental. Without sheer will and enduring effort, advice and information is useless. You have to really want to change. Happiness has to be the only option.

From extreme fad diets to dense research, I realized that there are few online sources that offer credible and user-friendly information that helps sustain realistic health goals.

Not only should this information be from a well-educated source, but from someone who really cares. It seemed clear that my passion for health needed a voice.

This website is the result of constant study and exploration. I feature only trustworthy sources of information and break down the science behind my basic philosophy on health—that good nutrition is really about balance, moderation and real food.

I hope to inform you and help you have fun on your nutrition journey. I want to inspire you to make a difference in the way you think about your daily habits and patterns. Most of all, I want The Farah Effect to give you the tools and understanding to make changes today that will support a lifetime of good health.

I want you to know that you have the power to make a different choice. You have the power to be happy and healthy.

I’m honored to bring you what I have learned.
With joy,
