Yoga Afterglow Avocado Salsa

Daydreaming about snacks in savasana? Avocado salsa is the perfect post-flow class treat to make it feel like you just sweated it up at a tropical retreat.

After an hour or so in warrior mode, I like to daydream about snacks when I’m in savasana. This is a great post workout or anytime snack.  Good fats from avocado keep you full and energized! You need healthy fats like avocado to absorb nutrients like vitamin A, D, E and K.  Avocados are also high in fiber which keeps your digestion healthy.  The garlic and onion in this delicious recipe are part of the allium vegetable family.   Research shows that these types of vegetables possess cardiovascular and cancer protective properties.  Get creative with this salsa put it on top of a lean protein, a dish of greens and quinoa or on top of my nutritious gluten-free bread.

Hey, good looking! What healthy things are you cooking up? Salads, smoothies or superfood stir-frys…I’m already hungry thinking about it! Inspire me in the comments or on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and tag @thefaraheffect.
